The total number of base station sectors (BSS) deployed by the top WiMAX operators totaled 36,319 at the end of Q4 2008. The majority of those deployed were 802.16e-2005 (48%). Approximately 44% of the top 22 operators have less than 1,000 base stations sectors installed; only 17% had over 2,000 base station sectors in place.
